Reinstalling Windows XP Home Edition
One thing you must do after you install WinXP, is install a anti-virus program and/or firewall because people can use exploits to infect your computer easily.
Just reformatted my computer again due to the viruses, but this time I was ready with my firewall and router. So, once you finish re-installing Windows, get protected.

as long as it's the same computer and you haven't really changed much since the re-install, you should be fine. If it's on another computer, then you're kinda screwed and have to buy a new one. Either way, update to SP2. You can order a cd for it in the mail, it says 6-8 weeks but i got mine in less than a week.

Reformatted computer (main computer, not laptop)
Installed Windows XP and activated without problems
3hrs pass and Computer gets infected via messenger service exploit
Reformat again, and tried same CD-KEY...
Didn't work.
:\
I do know that the CD-keys can be used on different computers as I have used one on three other computers but the time period between each usage was a few months
XP
I have a copy of XP Pro that is from a university in Canada here that is unlimited, doesn't need activation. You can probably find one like it on a bit torrent site....its what I use.

If you really have to, you can actually call their help line and get the tech on the other end to give you a new code. I've done it. Just say you had to format and reinstall. Say you didn't change shit, and you need it to work for school. They will give you what you need... if you have a legit code in the first place.
