The rough draft of the recruiting FAQ is here!

This is the thread to debate, refine and manage our V'er Program. All VeX are welcome to add their thoughts at any time, as with all parts of this board.

The first order of business will be to introduce to everyone the existing "V'er Program" as we have it now. I am assigning that task to WhosNext.

I was trying to make it easier. But if you want the hard way then write out every question you can think of and everything that they should know about before entering the clan.

Well I didn't want to do that. All I was saying is that for every major step in the recruiting process (advertising, formal recruitment, tagging, and boot camp) there should be a question that pertains to each one of them. That way it's a little more specific. I'm not trying to shoot your ideas down shard I'm just trying to through another idea out there.

I like it, reminds me of the ole days of OW with the instructor for each recruit. I liked the Ver program then and I still like it now. Great work guys.

Well thank you Zadam. I worked realativly hard on this first draft. If no one else has anything to add I'll make the changes me and shard talked about.

I agree. Make your changes and call it draft two. I will continue to monitor and add my comments. I have moved some threads to the Rank and Recruiting Section to kind of 'gather' all our notes in one place.

Ok, I worked on it some more. I added the changes that me and shard talked about and I must say I'm much more satisfied with this version! I took shards idea of the First Steps, Middle Steps, and Final Steps. I put them as main headers. You'll see what I mean.

Recruiting FAQ:
This FAQ pertains to all recruiters of VeX Clan. It’s best for all recruiters to look this over at least once so that they are well prepared to handle recruiting properly.

First steps:

Q: How can I advertise for the VeX clan?

A: Very simple. Follow these instructions:
-------------
I. ADVERTISE --Clearance: All VeX--this means that All VeX can do this.
-------------
All members of VeX should and may advertise the Clan. They should do so by pointing users to our website, and telling them about our Clan.

When talking about VeX make sure to mention the Democratic Military style of government and the ranks. Mention other games our Clan plays. Mention your Section Leader's name.

Middle Steps:

Q: What is the Formal Recruiting Process? What are the Steps in this Process?

A: The Formal Recruiting Process is the steps that the Recruiter takes when finding a potential VeX member. The process dictates what the recruiter does when he finds the VeX potential. The steps are as follows (Note: ALL VeX recruiters should know these steps by heart!):
-------------
II. FORMAL RECRUITMENT --Clearance: Recruiters this means that ONLY recruiters can do this.
-------------
Recruit in the following situations:
1) You are referred to a player by another VeX (from the Advertise Section above.)
2) You are approached by an individual about joining
3) You personally know someone and introduce them to the game and clan
4) You approach a player who has a good attitude and plays well

How to Recruit:
A) Observe. Watch the player to determine their playing style, and if they play well at all and immediately start a notepad file on them. Take good notes. Note the following information: Playing Style {Aggressive, Passive, Risk-Taking, Conservative, and/or Renegade}, Skill Level, and Attitude. We will accept all playing types. Take into account how they operate in firefights, objectives, and MOST IMPORTANTLY if they are good team players. Noting this is at the recruiter’s discretion, though they must consider it and remember it.

B) Approach. Player should be approached, complimented on playing style, and invited to join VeX.

C. Boards Sign-up: Get the new recruit to commit. Ask them if they want to join VeX and they must state "yes" unconditionally. Explain to them the concept of Loyalty to VeX. Then refer them to the boards Section of the site, so they can sign up and start their VeX career. You must tell them that you are only recruiting them, not giving them full VeX. Tell them there is a waiting period after receiving their V in which they will meet the clan, get all sorts of info, including the "Welcome" message.

D. Form Sign-up. New recruit MUST be instructed to join their section using the join form specific to that section. In the recruiter form field section, recruit must mention if they were recruited and by who. It also obtains their IP address.

Q: When can a new recruit wear his V_tag?

A: Refer to this next step for the answer (Note: Recruiters should also know this information!):
-------------
III. TAGGING --Clearance: Recruiters--
-------------
After signup on the boards (Section II.C) is confirmed by the Recruiter, a Recruit is allowed to wear their V_ tag. They must wear this tag until they pass their try-out for their VeX Tag. This is time for VeX Recruiters and MPs to collect information about, talk to, and fill out forms on the new Recruit. This is the second real “test” the recruit will have to endure in VeX. (The first being, getting Recruited). This is also a time to brush up on some skills.

Recruiter must make brief comments on the Playing Style and other matters outlined in II.A and submit a“ Recruiter Feedback Report” on each Recruit.

Final Steps:

Q: What is the V’er Program and how did it get started?

A: The V’er Program is basically the training period or “Boot Camp” that the VeX recruit goes through in order to get his full VeX tags. The whole process of the Boot Camp is listed here (Note: All recruiters, ranking officers, and Section Leaders should know this information):
-------------
IV. BOOTCAMP --Clearance: Recruiters, Instructors and Officers of VeX--
-------------
This is the waiting and training period between the time of attaining V’er (VeX Recruit) status and the time the Recruit is promoted and ranked at Full VeX.

A. Assign Instructor. After the Recruit is formally recruited, having filled out the appropriate sign-up form, the Recruiter will assign an Instructor if one is available. If an Instructor is not available, any Officer of VeX will fill the billet. This may take a few days to complete; that is acceptable.

B. Training and Ranking. This will take as long as the Recruit makes it take; the ball is in his court. The Recruiter or Instructor or Officer must schedule a time to meet and “test” the VeX recruit. Ask them if they belong, or ever belonged, to another Clan. If so, who? And why did they leave? Ask them how long they are online? Ask them if they will be loyal to our Clan? While interrogating, watch for attitude, and report it. Also write down anything strange they say. You may add other questions, but you must ask the above exactly as written here.

Play the recruit in a game of your choice. Test them out; thrash them, talk to them, go hard, then easy... see what they can do. Watch for skill level, strafing, correct load out, hosting ability, etc... After the game, decide SILENTLY if this person is a V'er Recruit, or good enough for a full VeX.

After this third “test” the same Recruiter or Instructor or Officer must immediately fill out the aforementioned “Recruiter Feedback Form” on the recruit. At this point, the Recruiter or Instructor or Officer must also decide to pass or fail the recruit.

C. Pass. If the recruit passes, the Recruiter or Instructor or Officer from paragraph B, above, must immediately let the Recruit know they are allowed to wear the Full VeX. The Clan will know about this action from the “Recruiter Feedback Form”

D. Fail. If they do not pass the try-out, we will have the Recruiter or Instructor or Officer from B, above, help them get better so that they can pass. It shows that VeX is a family and does not abandon.

A: To see the process the VeX clan went through to get to this point click this link here: http://forums.vexclan.com/viewtopic.php?t=59&postorder=asc

Q: What’s the VeX government all about, and what are it’s goals?

A: The VeX government is a democracy. Meaning were always voting, taking suggestions and using them, always listening to others thoughts and ideas.

The VeX clans goals are were talked and discussed in this thread here: http://forums.vexclan.com/viewtopic.php?t=704

OK so there it is. Questions and Comments anyone?
