Hacker going around the RS
This screenshot by itstelf, does not explain to me what you mean by hacking.
Over the last week, I have found that the majority of the younger generation in this clan has a different meaning to the word "hacking" or the verb "to hack" than I do.
Wikipedia says: Hack (technology slang) is a slang term in the jargon file which has a number of meanings depending on context, including a joke, a programming exploit, or a commercial software break-in.
Personally, I believe only the last two qualify as hacks, but you will still have to clarify if you are talking about a "joke" or a "programming exploit." Thanks.

Arsis was just proving that he was on his account while one of his friends was getting hacked, that way we dont have any problems.
In RS to hack usually means that some one got access to your account and stole everything in your bank, or messed with your character. There are a few ways to do this, one is you must have a persons account password which there are numerous ways to get them.
Its as simple as that.

If will's case was an example, I really have to get down to my roots on this one.
Here's what I told will in a nutshell:
If you give your password away to anyone, and you later get robbed or "hacked" in any way, the fault is all yours. There is no court in the world that would disagree with that statement.
What we need to do as a Clan is not look to punish our Clan Members, and not to try to open a Court and waste all our time in Trials, we should instead focus on USER EDUCATION.
Let's teach our VeX to use common sense and password security. Let's teach them NEVER to share passwords. Let's teach how to make a secure password and how to practice good security.

Okay, people dont know how to explain this well, so let me.
Elixir, even if people dont give out their information to others they can still have their account "hacked." It does not mean hack in the same sense that you know, such as getting your PC hacked. Account "hacking" means that somehow, in someway, someone was able to figure out your password, log on as your character, and transfer your items to their character. It is not considered the victim's fault except in some circumstances, such as will's.

I'm going to lecture a little from my textbook. It might be boring, but it is good for the younger generation.
Hacker - Two definitions; In a general sense, it is someone who illegally breaks into or attempts to break into a computer system. In this term, a "hacker" is synonymous (equally compared) with an attacker. In a narrower definition, it describes a person who uses his or her advanced computer skills to attack computers, but not with a malicious intent. Instead, hackers use their skills to expose security flaws.
Cracker - A person who violates system security with malicious intent; Unlike ethical hackers  who claim to be only searching for security weaknesses, crackers destroy data, deny legitimate users of service, or otherise cause serious problems.
My thoughts: Very interesting defintion that comes from my textbook. We had a big laugh at this definition. The difference between a hacker and cracker is only by their true intent.
The question around here is, what are Runscape players talking about when they say "My account was hacked." This is indeed a wrong statement because for an account to be hacked the attacker would have to break into the network and systems that run and handle the Runescape server software. The normal hacker would have to go through several barriers of defense inorder to actually hack a person's account. If it was truely hacked, I can promise you that he or her account is not the only account hacked because if you break into a system why would you just stop at one person's account? No, Runescape players are not getting hacked or there would be a Announcement of a break-in to the Runescape system.
Script Kiddies - Break into computers to create damage; Unskilled users. Script kiddies do their work through downloading automated hacking software from Web sites (generally for free) and then using it to break into computers, or in this case accounts. Script kiddies want to bolster their egos.
My Thoughts: This is likely the type of person who has stolen your account. This person uses programs to crack your password. Imagine your password like a Lock on a door. Cracking is the process of trying random combinations to get through the Lock. Programs are available to try random combinations; some systems will block or lockout an account after so many tries.
Now! Epagien explain to me the possible ways people lose their accounts.
Okay, this is just a snippet of what I am thinking about Runescape and "hacked accounts."

Just a quick note to say that we have now had a chance to look at the abuse report that you recently sent to us.
You will be pleased to know that we have now taken action against the player you reported and we hope that they will not be causing any more trouble in the game.
