How to post a Screen Shot

There are different methods depending on the type of computer you use. For simplisity reasons, assume that you are using Windows XP and a English (North America) 105-keyboard (105 keys).

  1. Locate the "Print Screen" key.
The normal location of the "Print Screen" key is near the top-right of the keyboard; often found left of the "Scroll Lock" key.
  2. Focus on the desired image (View the image) and press the "Print Screen" key. (Please note you can also use ALT + Print Screen)
Note: This action will copy the entire screen (everything) to your clipboard
  3. Load favorite Image editing program
Normally, we recommend using MSPAINT since it is already installed in every Windows XP installation
(Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint)
For advanced editing, we do recommend acquiring a copy of Adobe Photoshop or JASC Paintshop
  4. Load the image onto Image editing program by either pressing CTRL + V on the keyboard or clicking on (Edit -> Paste) from the menu bar.
  5. Save the image by going to (File -> Save As) and entering a filename. Change Save as type to JPEG (.jpg).
JPEG is a file format that compresses the image while perserving the quality of the image.

I hope this helps you in understanding all of the steps involved in capturing, viewing, and saving Screen Shots of your own.

Also if your keyboard does not have the "Print Screen" key or your computer does not support it then i suggest that you search on the net for more information, or read the manual on how to capture Screen Shots.

You can try out 3rd Party software:
Download.com - Search for Screen Capture
HyperSnap-DX - Power Screen Capture Software
