Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

Hey guys. I have been thinking about it ever since I bought this game (which was around the same time I joined VeX). The game I am proposing to make a section is called Guild Wars. Maybe some of you have heard of it but for those of you who haven't it's a MMORPG. I know your probably saying," Well we already have 2 sections that are MMO's, why do we need another?" Well, just listen to my proposal and you might change your mind.

Guild Wars: The Basics

Like I said Guild Wars is and MMORPG, but it does some things that are different from others. First is the fact that THERE IS NO MONTHLY FEE! That's right, you pay for the game and it's smooth sailing from there and you won't need to shove anymore money into it. Another thing is that the level cap is 20. Yes, a bit low, but the developers did this for a reason. See instead of focusing on leveling up to win your battles, it becomes more about skill with you class (or in Guild Wars profession) then who's the higher level. Another interesting thing is that you can have 2 classes at once. You can be a ranger (an archer with pet control) combined with a necromancer (a class inwhich you raise the dead). So you get the benefit's of both and you can combine spells from the 2 classes for stratigical combos. One other thing is that there are no server's in Guild Wars. There are instead "districts" that you can hop your character through so if you wanted to get together with your friend, you wouldn't have to start a new character on another server. Just scroll down the list of districts and go to ther one you want. Each city has its own set of districts and the number of districts depends on how many people go there.

Guild Wars: The Role Playing Part

In Guild Wars you create your character (shape what he or she looks like, choose a name, pick the Profession) and he/she is thrown into the world. In the beggining you do simple quests and learn how the game works in the world. A thing I should tell you about is this. The towns, citys, and settlements, is where all the people are. It's here that you can buy, sell, talk with other's, and find party members for quests. But once you step out of the city, there is only you and your party in the wilderness. The game creates a special area, just for you and your party to do quests. No longer will other adventurers screw up your quests because you and your party will be the only one's in the wilderness. Now there are 2 types of quests, normal everyday quests where you get small benefits, then there are big story line quests. These quests are all stringed together, they also have cutscene's that tell you what to do in the quest and advance you in the story line. It's through these quests that you will travel all over the world.

A final note about the Role-Playing part is that it is VERY party influenced. You really can't progress through the game unless you work with other people. You can get computer "henchmen" but they arn't as smart as real people.

Guild Wars: PvP

Now this is the meat and potatoes of the game. This is where you fight other players and show who's got the better skills. When you create a character, you choose wether that character is PvP or Role-Playing. When you choose pvp, you can choose what kind of PvP you want to get into. Theres regular arena where you are put in a random group and you fight other random group. Then there is the Hall of Heroes PvP, which is the big serious teams duke it out for supremecy. Then the coolest, the Guild PvP. This is where Guilds fight other guilds to see which guild has the better skills. This is the coolest one in my opinion and VeX could have some fun with it.

Now when you start the character he/she automatically starts at level 20. You choose the character's primary profession and secondary profession and the spells (or in Guild Wars skills) that you will use. Then you choose the armor and the weapons you want the character to have. Then you name the character and thrust him/her into the pvp world. From here you enter matches against other teams and fight in an arena. The more kills and victories you get, the more faction points you get. You can use these points to buy upgrades for your weapons, armor, and you can buy new skills.

Note: Guilds can purchase things called guild halls. These halls are where everyone in the guild hangs out and organizes some PvP action or quest action. These halls cost quite alot of gold (games currency) but we could have guild meetings there and just hang out.

Why I want to propose this new section.

I want to do this because I really like the game and I love to PvP. I also think it would be fun to have guild PvP and show that VeXers are kick ass in any game they play. Another reason why I want to do this is that I want to contribute something big to the clan. I also want to prove myself to the clan and show that I can be a leader. There also some pracical reasons. One is that people who play Guild Wars, also play WoW and sometimes some runescape. So if this is made a section, those who join could also be apart of the WoW or RS, which means new recruits for those sections as well! Of coarse if the section is successful I will still be VERY active in the Call of Duty section.

Well thank you for reading my long ass proposal. I eagerly await you guestions and you comments. Thank you again.

ok here are a couple questions for you.... is this free to play or pay to play? pay to play is nicer then f2p because they can put up more security and keep the game up better..... However Arsis cant afford to pay for 30 billion games so let me know. Second from what i see this looks alot like Diablo 2.... if so I WANT IT. but would you b willing to "rush" new members if at all posable...... Next is it liener like diablo 2 or is it more open Like RS? i like both but D2 got boring quick because arsis is a fiend when he starts a new game and beats it rapidly. LEt me know the answers and i will investiage the game further

Hmm I like it, but isnt a lot like the WoW section? I mean i know a few people who take the difference between the 2 games seriously lol. However, I like the idea but are we stretching the limited members we have too thin? Just a thought. But if you feel strongly about GW then by all means go for it buddy. If anyone would be great at running and maintaining a section it would be yourself.

These are good questions Arsis. So I'll answer them the best I can.

You pay the money for the game, just like any other game you buy at the store. But with World of Warcraft you pay a monthly fee or you by 2 months paid cards. That is not the case with Guild Wars. Once you buy Guild Wars at the store, you NEVER have to put more money into it again. No monthly fee's, no game cards, nothing. Right now you could probably find Guil Wars for 30 or 20 bucks so it's pretty cheap (it came out about a year ago and a half ago).

Yes it is a lot like D2 in terms of some of the features and the classes. Like you can Identify items to see their true power or upgrading items with magical crap to make them more powerful. Now when you say "rush" you mean having a high level rush you through the intire game correct? Well you can but it takes a lot longer, like 1-2 days. So you probably need multiple rushers and they usually charge 1-2 platinum (which is 1000 gold) each. So it's better to just play through the game like a normal gamer.

Well, yes and no. The story line missions are linear, but there are MANY other quests in towns that give you new skills, money, and experience. So once you beat the story line quests you can just go back and do the other quests. And once you done with THOSE quests you can start some different chars and do the quests or just go into the PvP combat.

So Arsis I think I answered your questions throughly and if you or anyone else has questions are comments please speak up!

Again, good question. Yes it does seem that the members we have are being stretched to many different sections. So if the section is authorized I will begin immediate recruiting in the game. My intial plan is to not have the make-up of the section be members from other sections, but to have intirely new people straight from GW to help keep the section growing. If the members are inactive and just don't want to participate on the boards, then the section will most likely die. So I'm going to try very hard to find members that will be loyal and will really want to do there part.

P.S. Thank you for your support Zadam. I really appreciate it. :)

My only comment here is that CoolBall is REALLY behind this cause. His display and commentary is outstanding. This Clan can support a hundred sections if you wanted, so don't let that hold you back. I think it's all about if you can get devoted players behind your cause.

Good work!

Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

Ok..... so how many people in VeX play Guild Wars...? 1...? We already have WoW, i don't see the need for yet another MMO.... Especially for one as unorganized and crappy as this game....

Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

Oh here we go shard. How did I know you were going to hate my idea? Shard you don't HAVE to be part of the section. I wanted to start it up because I love the game and I think we could have some fun with it.
And besides, I believe the plans are already underway for the Staging area to be set up. And shard my plan is to not have the Guild Wars section be made up of mostly current VeX from other sections. I'm planing to recruit gamers from Guild Wars to be the meat of the section.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, me and Shard are friends outside the clan. When I bought the game and showed it to him he said this," Oh this game sucks ass. This is such a WoW rip off." So he's had it out for this game.

I would like to thank those people who support me doing this. I will do my best to make sure the Guild Wars section of the clan becomes succesful. Thank you for this oppertunity everyone. :D

Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

Coolball, no worries. Ashardoflife has no valid points on why this game couldn't be a section. "Just hating the game without playing it" has always been a symptom of a few VeX members, ie: Zinc. We have to understand that not every game will appeal to us; however, this doesn't give us the right to bash the game. The issue of not enough VeXers playing Guild Wars is actually not a problem. A section isn't successful because of its high member count, but rather, the organization, dedication of the section leader determines the success rate.

This game could make it to Staging Area with just himself. The point of a Staging Area is to define the organization and prove that the section can gain new recruits. In some ways, we don't want VeX members to enroll in Staging area sections, but this isn't fair. Perhaps, we can say they do not count towards the five members a section needs to graduate from Staging Area.

Just some early thoughts, early in the morning.

Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

Ok. Well we really have no BAD things to say about any games that wanna be brought into the clan. All im saying is that this game isn't the greatest out there... (In other words It stinks) This game's PvP system is totally whack, you go with a random team of 4 others is it cool? And fight another team. woohoo. Do that over and over again. And over and over. The quests have you wandering through place after place just trying to find one person to talk to or kill. Then you wander on back to town and turn it in. I believe cool said to me once. "It's a single player game wrapped inside an MMO." or something along those lines. Here are some of the things that seem stupid to me about the game. No jumping, set path, lvl 20 is lvl cap, long wandering quests, crappy PvP, monsters are dumb (in both appearance and AI) and lastly..... It's basically the making of WoW. But by all means go right ahead and start up the section. These are just some of my opinions (and some facts) to inform some people about the downside of the game.Have fun playing Diablo 3.

Just wanted to point out that only half these things are my opinion. The others are fact. Such as no jumping, lvl 20 cap, long wandering quests (and I cant name anymore cause i g2g to school)

Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

*sigh*. Shard, those are your opinions about the game and I will respect them. But I just wish you would give the game a little more credit than this. Oh well, not going to argue about it.

Coolball88's New Section Proposal.

Ashardoflife: Alright, we get your point. You won't be playing this game anytime soon. Sit down and shut up, already. Don't worry about it if you are not going to be part of the section.

Coolball: You've proved that you have put a great deal of thought into it. I'm excited to see what you are capable of doing. Just need to talk about it some more to see if we are ready for a Staging Area.

Lastly, Guild Wars is completely different than WoW. WoW has advanced gameplay systems, tons more storyline, and it costs to pay each month. Guild Wars is as Coolplay says, a single player game in a MMO environment; however, the game does have a large following for many reasons. It is a place to find quality members.
