Promotion?

Well, since you asked I have to answer with a few more questions. From what I know of you, that may not go over too well... lol.

So you want Staff, huh? Sergeant is a big rank in itself, and it seems to me many VeX Sergeants are just coasting along. At this rank you have to start doing things that lower ranked VeX don't do.

At the Staff level, you really are considered an invaluable part of the team. You are constantly contributing and making rank adjustments and moderating your boards, etc. Those are just some of my ideas.

So, in answer to your question, I must ask in return, "What, specifically, are you going to bring to your new rank that will be an added asset to VeX?"

Your detailed, well-thought-out answer will help Epagien and I fill in the "requirements" for the rank of Sergeant and Staff Sergeant. You are already helping us if you give a detailed reply! :)

I'm promoting three VeX to the rank of "acting" Staff Sergeant today. The first is GhostMarine. The second is Shark, and the third is Valcon.

These three new Staff Sergeants have a mission: to define what it means to be a Staff Sergeant in VeX. What are you responsible for?

Once you find this thread, post to it. In about a month, if you have not completed this mission, you will be re-ranked at Sergeant, hence the term "acting."

What does it mean to be a Staff Sergent in VeX? Well I guess it means being an active member, not necessarily in games and such, but active in the clan. This means helping other out when they need it, contributing ideas, etc..

So for me, whether it be web development, graphics design, backup in a game, or hell, just some input to brainstorm ideas, thats what a staff sergent is for.

That's a great start. Basically, I heard you say that a Staff Sergeant has to take a more active roll in the Clan than, for example, a Sergeant. That includes helping wherever help is needed. That's great!

I want to hear from some other Staff Sergeants on this one. if you see one, tell him to come on over.

Be active in games and posting often on the site.Staff Sergeants should also be nice to other members and be there for them.Kinda like a romodel.Thats really all i can think about right now.

Should we have a forum or modify this forum to where it contains promo votes, but can only be created by mods/admins.

It doesn't feel official when your creating a poll for a promotion -- example -- At a job, do you give yourself a raise? No, you request it.

Good question. It has crossed my mind before, but I never took the time to answer it.

Hmmm, we definitely need a separate place to post the polls for promotion, and that place needs to be viewable by all, but only admins or section leaders (doens't HAVE to be mods too) can create the polls.

This forum has been used for that in the past, so the real question then becomes keep it here or make a new forum?

I think we should keep it here based on the fact that we have enough forums. LOL. But keep the threads separated logically with correct titles, etc.
